While recent mandates require school districts to adopt suicide prevention policies, the current rise in suicide rates amongst teens has brought issues regarding mental health and support to the forefront of issues in education. This session will assist participants in understanding the school team's role in suicide prevention and intervention. Participants will review a protocol for conducting risk assessments and determining appropriate steps in working with the student and family.
