Working in the helping profession as an educator, administrator, clerk/secretary, or mental health professional, puts one at the forefront of dealing with high levels of stress and trauma in the workplace. The rise of violence in our schools and neighborhoods has people keenly aware of their surroundings. How do you manage to be present in all situations and still be able to function after your shift is over and you return home? After giving of yourself all throughout the day, do you take time to fill your cup? This workshop will allow participants to understand how workplace stress and trauma affects individuals. Participants will also learn how to identify symptoms of burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. Participants will also acquire skills, self-care strategies, to mitigate these symptoms.
