Multi-Tiered System of Support for Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Suicide is currently the 2nd leading cause of death among youths and young adults 10-24 years of age. Bringing attention to this ever-important issue, in 2016 Assembly Bill 2246 was signed into law in California requiring districts to adopt a Suicide Prevention Policy. Being prepared with a well-defined plan for suicide prevention, intervention and postvention is critical. Learn about one district's multi-tiered system of support and walk away with practical strategies to address this issue. After attending this session, participants will be able to:
1) Understand suicide prevention awareness strategies.
2) Understand how to screen for students who may be at-risk.
3) Identify how to assess and intervene with those at-risk.
4) Explain postvention supports after a suicide.
