As a pediatrician, parent volunteer and member of the Board of Education, I've worked on policies and programs to support student mental health in our schools and community. I helped start the Wellness Center at Piedmont High, I'm a long-time facilitator for the Piedmont Parents Network and co-founder of the Launchpad Program for high school seniors. I work with our students' Challenge Success Club to identify and implement strategies that support the social, emotional and mental health of students. As a pediatrician, I studied the biological basis of stress, exploring individual variation in physical and mental health. I have two daughters in college and a son who is in 11th grade. I look forward to meeting many of you at the conference and discussing how to support our students, schools, families and communities!
