When one of her daughters was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of twelve, the experience of navigating the mental health care system inspired Ms. Miller to share their story with others. She is passionate about destigmatizing mental illness in the African American community, urging other parents to seek out early interventions. She also serves as a member of the Mental Health Advisory Council for Kaiser Permanente Northern California
