Kathleen O’Connell has spent the last decade working in the TK-12 educational system providing mental health services and tiered interventions system support. Bringing experience and education from both clinical and educational settings, she has worked at both site and district levels to reconstruct systems of intervention to better serve students, families, and staff, with a focus on increasing protective factors and reframing education as a holistic avenue for both individual and community development. Kathleen has helped usher in the opening of a district-wide counseling center, created behavioral intervention/threat assessment protocol for the district, and been instrumental in expanding the focus of mental health efforts to include staff and stakeholder wellness.
