Suh Chen Hsiao, DPPD, MSW, PPSC, LCSW, a USC MSW alumna of 1990 and a former field instructor, is currently the Clinical Associate Professor & Associate Director, Field Education at USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. She received her second Master degree in Education from California State University of Dominguez Hills with her Administrative Credential in 2006. In 2018, she received her Doctor of Policy, Planning and Development from USC Price School of Public Policy. She has worked as a medical social worker in private community hospital, home health and adult day care center where she provided crisis intervention, individual family and group therapy as well as community health promotion and outreach. As supervising psychiatric social worker, her experience with persistent mentally ill adult population and child & adolescent outpatient clinic/Children’s Crisis Team with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health also prepared her to handle any mental health crisis. Prior joining USC, she was the administrator of the School Mental Health Unit with Los Angeles Unified School District for ten years where she coordinated the school-based program and contributed to the development of the San Pedro Clinic as a Medi-Cal Rehabilitation clinic as well as the implementation of the evidenced-based practice “Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools”.
